Hoeven Statement On The Passing Of Tom Clifford
BISMARCK, ND - Gov. John Hoeven issued the following statement today in response to news of the passing of Tom Clifford:
"Mikey and I received the sad news of Tom Clifford's passing. It is difficult in a few words to summarize Tom's lifetime of remarkable accomplishments and contributions to our state and country. What we can say is that as an educator, entrepreneur, Marine, lawyer, and public servant, Tom was a towering figure in North Dakota and beyond. UND's historic expansion into the fields of aviation, medicine, energy development and technology stand as memorials to his vision and energy. Throughout his long life, he understood the future and he embraced it, and for that he will long be remembered and admired. We join with all North Dakotans in sending our prayers and sincerest condolences to his family."
