Bryan R. Klipfel
Superintendent, North Dakota Highway Patrol
Klipfel is a native of Ashley, North Dakota. He received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Public Administration in 1975 from the University of North Dakota. He is a 1987 graduate of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia, and holds national certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources.
A 26-year veteran of the North Dakota Highway Patrol, Klipfel began his career as a trooper in Rolla and Minot. He served as district sergeant and district commander in Williston. He was the department's Training Director and the Administrative Services Commander, prior to his appointment as superintendent in November 2003. Bryan's wife, Bonnie, is an elementary teacher with the Bismarck Public Schools.
